This week was insane! So many cool things happened - I'll give a little rundown of everything.
-Monday we went golfing on Orcas Island cause the members there own a golf course. I'm going pro.
-Tuesday was amazing! We had a mission tour with Elder McConkie of the Seventy. Insanely awesome visit! He talked a lot about the language of the spirit, being able to recognize when he's speaking to you. He first puts an idea in your mind and then it's followed by a feeling of what to do. Found in D&C 8-9. I felt like he was speaking right to me. Everything he talked about answered every question. So cool. He was so kind and shared so many cool stories about the spirit and how to better recognize it. Such a good guy. I love this church.
-Wednesday was fun too. We got to help a member paint the underside of his boat, and then we got to make sushi with another member as a late birthday celebration which was rad.
-Thursday I went on exchanges with the Spanish zone leaders so I was off Island for a sec but it's okay, I can share.
-Friday We saw some cool miracles and also talked to a Spanish guy about how he doesn't believe about God but in some big aliens who planted us on the Earth and age way slower than us. He knows this cause he read The Odyssey. Which doesn't talk about any of that. Good stuff.
-Saturday We re-exchanged and went to serve the same member to finish up his boat, and then we went to a sheep farm to help a farmer sheer his sheep 🐑. So I got to wrangle sheep for 2 hours. We got some free lamb shanks out of it so if anyone has any recipes for that...I'd appreciate it.
-Sunday We went to Lopez Island to support the 10 members there at Sacrament. We met in a 1920's schoolhouse, and it was so fun. Afterwards we got to go to the Branch President's house and all I can say is it was a museum. I'll include some pictures cause I can't do it justice with words. Pictures whither, but they'll give an idea.
That's a wrap pretty much. Abbreviated cause I don't wanna bore you guys. One last thought. We were discussing Jacob 5 on Sunday about the olive trees. And I love how everytime the servants go out to work on the trees the master goes with them. Because he cares about their growth. Even the dry ones with bitter fruit. He cares. And I know that the Savior is the very same with us. He cares, and he won't stop trying to take care of us. We just need to plant our roots firm and grow ourselves in Christ. I say that in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
