Heyyyy it's been a bit but I'm back and I've got a few things to get into so...let's do it.
I love the work up here in Mt. Vernon, even though all the Latinos don't ever want follow up appointments. There's a lot of them out there, so we will find the ones that do want to hear. It's hard sometimes, talking to so many people and then being ghosted over and over. But it's so fun being able to find so many people and talk to them, practicing Spanish. It's the most immersion I wil ever experience on the mission, so I will be taking every single opportunity.
Some miracles I ran into this week...
We knocked the house of a referral who's never answered us...still didn't this time but the plus side to this is we received a prompting to go across the street and talk to a guy over there and we did! He was Latino and had chickens and was such a nice guy too. His name is Victor. We talked for like 20 minutes about Mexico and chickens, and Jesus (one of the best combinations). We left after having invited him to church and set up a return appointment as well which was RAD.
It's been a hard couple of weeks, being sick and lack of friends to teach, but during this time I've had so many opportunities to really focus on growing myself closer to Jesus and making myself a better person and missionary. As I was fasting yesterday, I got an impression of a few things I needed to do and change, which I feel like I haven't been able to feel too often those type of impressions. But feeling this and knowing what I needed to do really boosted me and helped me get out of whatever typa sad I was feeling. God is so good to us, he raises us up in our most desperate moments and he helps us continue when we feel we can't. We of course need to put in our own efforts, but I know and I can testify that when we do, we can overcome anything. With faith. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
